about

I always hated that this is exploding was seen as a one record band. I get why one would see us as such a thing, seeing as how we only had one record.

However, we wrote something like 25 or 26 songs between the time we started and the time we recorded our one and only "until the next red light". And we wrote after as well, which thanks to a few discoveries in my cd library I can finally prove that we were on our way to a record number 2.

actually... we were going to skip record number 2 and move straight to record number 3, but that's another story for someone else to make up.

I'm happy to finally get a bundle of these songs released to the public. Yes, there are still a few unreleased nuggets in our collection, but they remain hidden for a reason.

this collection attempts to show all the work and music we wrote and recorded while working up to "until the next red light". I've only included the most recent or best performance of each recording as in many cases there were demos and then rehearsal takes and then live takes of each song. You dear listener, don't need to hear five versions of the song "better" or "a lust song" all you need is the version that was on "until the next red light" so I've spared you things like that.

all you're getting is the unreleased stuff from early on that I thought was worth salvaging.

thanks for listening. I hope this gives you a good insight into our process and better charts are evolution as a band.

and now of course when you're having your indie rock conversations you can say "oh... you like this is exploding's "until the next red light"? have you even heard the earlier stuff! that stuff is way better"

be well.
